Carey Theological College
Carey Theological College is an evangelical Christian
seminary based in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is a ministry of the Baptist
Union of Western Canada. Carey Theological College is actively involved with the
Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada and
affiliated with the University of British Columbia. The college makes use of
theological scholars in the area, particularly through a working relationship
with Regent College, an evangelical graduate school of theology situated nearby.
In addition, the college has a working relationship with Taylor Seminary, a
graduate school of the North American Baptist Conference and it is a part of the
Network of Evangelical Theological Schools of Western Canada, a network
providing shared distributive-learning options both to those in ministry and

Langara College
Langara College is located in Vancouver, British Columbia,
Canada and has more than 23,000 students (full-time and part-time). Programs
were first offered in 1965 at King Edward Centre as part of Vancouver City
College. The current site at 100 West 49th Avenue has housed the programs since
1970. The college was established as an independent public college on April 1,
1994. It takes its name from the neighbourhood in which it is situated, which in
turn was named for Spanish Admiral Juan de Lángara.

University of British Columbia
The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a Canadian
public research university with campuses in the Greater Vancouver area and in
Kelowna, British Columbia. The main campus in the Greater Vancouver area is
located in the University Endowment Lands on Point Grey, a peninsula about 10 km
from downtown Vancouver, with smaller speciality and satelite campuses located
at Great Northern Way and Robson Street, both in Vancouver proper. While the
originating legislation created UBC on March 7, 1908, the first day of lectures
was September 30, 1915. On September 22, 1925, lectures began on the new Point
Grey campus.
UBC consistently ranks as one of the top three Canadian universities by Research
InfoSource and ranks as second in Canada and thirty-sixth in the world in the
Academic Ranking of World Universities. In 2006, Newsweek magazine ranked the
University of British Columbia second in Canada and 27th in the world. The Times
Higher Education Supplement of the UK ranked UBC as second in Canada and
thirty-third in the world in 2007. According to Maclean's University Rankings,
UBC has the highest percentage of Ph. D level professors among all public
universities in North America (92%). It has received widespread recognition by
Maclean's and Newsweek magazines for its foreign language program; the Chinese
program is North America's largest, and the Japanese program is North America's
second largest (after the University of Hawaii). The Department of Art History,
Visual Arts and Theory has been recognized consistently for the world-class
artists who teach there. In 2003 the National Post stated UBC had the highest
entrance requirements for undergraduate admission out of all universities in
Canada.

The Vancouver Community College has two separate campuses. The Downtown
Vancouver Campus is located at 250 West Pender Street at the intersection of
Cambie Street and Pender Street. Its second campus known as the Broadway Campus,
1155 East Broadway, is by the VCC-Clark Station SkyTrain Station.

Vancouver Film School (VFS) is a private entertainment arts
school located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Founded in 1987, it has
achieved international recognition. The Vancouver Film School has campus
locations around Downtown Vancouver and comprises six buildings. As part of the
school's 20th anniversary in 2007, in August 2006 one million dollars was set
aside in scholarships for new students. In March, 2008, Vancouver Film School
and YouTube launched a competition for three full-tuition scholarships for the
creators of the three videos submitted and voted as favorites by the YouTube
community.
In November 2007, the school was ranked No. 5 worldwide by the American magazine
"3D World," with criteria such as the distribution of student films and prizes
in festivals around the world.
